Just be happy you’re alive…
September 11, 2006
It’s September 11th, 2006, five years after the World Trade Center tragedy. If you are in a break up, try to keep it in perspective. Forgive those that hurt you. Forgive yourself for hurting someone. It is better to have loved once than never at all. It’s time for us to appreciate having the ability to talk, hug and kiss those we love. As long as you are alive love is possible. There is no need to shed tears over lost love. Just around the corner you will find love again.
Let’s take at least this day to remember what makes us happy. Let’s focus on all the good that is possible, rather than all the pain in our pasts. Moving on is the best coping mechanism, but it doesn’t mean we have to forget.
Converting anger into love…
August 11, 2006
We always say that anger can be a good thing. Anger is energy. Energy can be focused and aimed at a goal. Here is a heartwarming tale of a woman who turned anger into love. After all, we are about love. Yes, we always say, “a break up can be a good thing.” The thing is, without new found love, a break up is irrelevant. It is important to focus on all the amazing ways people in this world can find love. Remember, getting over a break up requires family, friends, self improvement and time. Use your anger to focus on those things.
Your life will fall into place on its own. All you need to do is become a stronger and more insightful person. Read, travel get to know yourself. Carol Hernandez took her single life and created more love than she could have imagined. The power of love is tremendous. Focus on something other than romance until you heal…
“I saw Diana and just knew she was meant to be my daughter,” Hernandez said. “I saw in her a special light, and I thought, if that child had love and the proper support behind her, she could fly…”
Who are we saving?
August 1, 2006
Do you remember “Star Trek”? The characters often mentioned the “prime directive” when they encountered what they considered a primitive species.
From www.wikipedia.org:
“In the Star Trek fictional universe, the Prime Directive, Starfleet’s General Order #1, is the most prominent guiding principle of the United Federation of Planets; The Prime Directive dictates that there be no interference with the natural development of any primitive society, chiefly meaning that no primitive culture can be given or exposed to any information regarding advanced technology or alien races…”
We (the U.S) are not that evolved at the moment. We tend to try and “save” the world whether it needs or not. Obviously social structures in other countries are not our concern, but we should at the very least consider the consequences of what we do. The same way that destroying the forest affects the natural balance of fauna, we affect the natural balance of culture in any country that we occupy. This is especially true when the culture seems to counter our own. In Baghdad the divorce rate is climbing. We are not saying that is a bad thing. Women who want to be liberated should be. Unfortunately, men in Iraq are the ones with all the rights to divorce. Are we helping the female cause there? You tell us.
“BAGHDAD — Ten years in the making, the marriage of Raad and Nidhal Khalil was undone in less than 10 minutes of courtroom formalities. Furious when he took a second wife four months ago, she moved out and refused to return until he granted a divorce…”
